WTF is “Bode?” A Modern Meme, Explained
On November 27, 2016 a Tumblr user made a post about a dream he had involving the word “Bode” on top of photos of super-fat cats. People on the Internet love cats so naturally people blew the post out of proportion and began making their own fat cat bode memes.
What The Heck It Means:
“Bode” is short for “bodacious” meaning, according to PigLuver98 on Urban Dictionary, “A large, irregularly fat cow. Don’t trust the man who gives you this compliment, kids.” To people, this may be a depressing insult, but cats don’t take it as such because they can’t read or speak English. Basically this meme is a cat that’s fat with “bode” written across the photo in an ugly-ass font.
Really, this is just a chance for the Internet to show off pictures of fat cats that they’ve been obsessed with since Bill Gates founded the WWW.
How To Use It:
Step 1: Find fat cat photo.
Step 2: Open Paint, Picmonkey, Photoshop, or what-the-heck-ever cheap photo editor you downloaded illegally.
Step 3: Pick a theme, font, and slap that shit on there.
Step 4: Post to social media.
Though it may seem that making a bode meme and putting it on social media is an easy 4-steps, cotton-headed ninny mugginses still find some way of derping it up.
DON’T DERP IT UP LIKE THIS:
Fat? Yes. Not a cat. Not even a real animal. Nope.
Who cares if you used a cat Snapchat filter once? A person can’t be bode. Cats only. No buts. No bode. Bye.
Anime was a mistake and so was this attempt at using this meme. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
Bode is growing stronger each day, through people who think they’re funny, creative, and innovative who’ve passed on the bode namesake to other animal species such as:
Of course we’re all wondering what’s next. And what’s next…it still isn’t good.
