Winter Fashion At Its Lowest
Winter is upon us again, and it's the time of
year to bundle up and do everything in your power to protect you from the cold.
Naturally, because of the various things you can use to stay warm, obvious
trends become very apparent. As I observe the walkers of campus on the crisp
mornings of the winter I've noticed a few winter fashion items that I simply
cannot ignore.
First, I have seen a huge influx of our favorite: Neon orange winter attire. Mostly seen in the form of a hat, these items are a must-have. Not only does it keep your head warm, you become the bright beacon at the height of fashion. If it's dark out everyone will be able to see you! And if you're caught in a potential freak blizzard of 2010, feel confident that your head will shine brightly through the snow. These hats are paired easily with matching gloves, or even if you're feeling very avant garde, boots. Also seen on campus regularly are these hats paired with deep woods hunting fashion, dark green coats patterned will amazing wood scenes that make even the biggest outdoorsman jealous. And ladies, don't forget your scarf!
Next on the list of this season's most popular items are the ever-loved glittens. Half glove, half mitten this is an item we all must have. Glittens turn the normally limited movement of mittens into the convenience of a glove, and to top it off you actually have use of your fingers! These are especially desired by smokers, avid texters and compulsive nose pickers. These items come in all shapes and sizes, from your urban camp, to a tweed knitting, to striped, to even the neon orange to match your hat! Don't go this season's without your own pair of glittens.
Who can forget the hugely popular North Face jacket. This jacket goes down to your knees and is always paired with leggings and Ugg boots, leaving every girl on campus unrecognizable. Available in three different colors, purchase this jacket if you're willing to blend in with the crowd.
Also this winter I've been observing many girls wearing extremely skinny jeans or leggings, so tight that hell, they look like tights! Although this item doesn't protect against the wind very much, they sure are cute! These can even come in some really fun designs, zebra striped, leopard print, even polka dots. Accentuate any coat or your favorite pair of Ugg boots with this must-have item. If you're a little afraid of the leggings, maybe try on a pair of plether pants, they give the look of the legging but the warmth of pants. Be wary though to quit wearing these pants before April in order to stop the chances of skin peeling off because of profuse sweating.
Never go unprotected in the winter! Last but not least is the classic, the ear muff. Go old school with the head band style in various puffy colorful versions. Keep your ears warm and grooving in style. If you're not a fan of those puffy ear muffs get an awesome pair of headphones to work double duty, keeping you warm and rocking out as you walk through campus. Stay warm this winter, and always at the top of fashion.
