The 2017 UGA Drunk Food Bracket: Round 1
It’s that time of year where people fill out brackets and actually watch college basketball again. Since UGA has a plethora of late night eateries, we at The Black Sheep thought it would be a good idea to gage our audience and rank them with a bracket. Without further adieu, we present: The 2017 UGA Drunk Food Bracket.
Over the next three weeks, The Black Sheep will be releasing a poll to get your take on which Athens drunk food spot reigns king. At the end of it all, only one will prevail as champion. Voting ends Friday at 5 p.m. EST so get to voting!
Treat Yo-self Division ($$$):
1.) The Grill:
The place you probably only go when you’re hammered drunk. It’s specifically sought out for it’s sacred feta fries.
2.) Waffle House:
Everyone is familiar with Waffle House. It’s the 24/7 spot where an all-star meal is the difference maker between a good and great night.
3.) Five Guys
For when you just need a greasy, terrific burger and fast. Conveniently located across from the Arch, it makes for the perfect pit stop on your way back to the dorms.
4.) Little Italy:
The late-night go to pizza joint will surely satisfy your need for greasy, delicious slices. Bonus points because it’s dimly lit, so your date can’t tell how much you’ve actually been sweating all night.
Budget Yo-self Division ($):
1.) R-U Hungry (Lay-Z Shopper):
That quick, in and out, sandwich place is always the move. Sometimes, you get caught in a drunken, late-night rush, but just be patient. It’s worth the wait for a chicken tender and fried mozzarella stick sub.
2.) Fuzzy’s :
Fuzzy’s makes for an acceptable taco stop amidst your rowdy night. Stop in for some quick tacos, queso, or even to grab even more drinks at the bar.
3.) Insomnia Cookies:
For those that have that sweet tooth, Insomnia will satisfy that cookie/ ice-cream craving. If you’re too drunk and forget to stop by while you’re downtown, just call it in for delivery if your drunk ass can manage a phone.
4.) Taco Stand:
Here’s yet another acceptable taco spot for those late night taco cravings. Along with a stacked bar, Taco Stand has affordable combo trays so you merely have to utter a simple number and food will be at your disposal.
Cast your vote to support your go-to late night food spots and thanks for participating. Keep up with the standings and check back next Monday to see the winners!
