NEW YORK– Thursday around 7:33 in the evening, another NYU student fell victim to Kimmel’s staircase. According to witnesses, Cameron Koo descended down the stairs one step at the time, before suddenly tumbling down the rest.
“Yeah, I think he just missed a step or something. It was like in slow motion. I couldn’t look away,” confirmed a Tisch student standing nearby. “No one moved. We all just kinda looked at each other like, do we help? But after a few seconds he brushed himself off and went about his way.”
When asked to comment on his literal slip-up, Koo said, “It wasn’t that big of a deal okay? I just tripped. Everything was fine, I’m fine, I’m not even sure why you want a comment about it.”
Other students who saw the hilarity as well. One senior Stern student said, “Yeah, I mean, I really don’t think it was that funny. Like thank goodness he was okay, it could’ve been really bad.”
Another Tisch freshman agreed it was one of the funniest things they’d ever seen: “No it’s not. It’s not funny at all. What the hell is wrong with you?”
“Yeah that’s not something you see everyday, sure. I would’ve gone to help him, but we aren’t allowed to leave from behind these desks,” reported the on-duty security guard.
Overall, this tragic, although apparently comedic, incident demonstrated three things: that everyone should check their shoes’ traction; that NYU has a truly morbid student body; and that Public Safety really is as useless as they look.
