How UNC Students Reacted To North Carolina’s S(no)w Day

Warnings of winter severe weather headlined local news station for the past few days, but ~shit got real~ this Monday morning when most universities experienced cancellations, delays, and the wrath of mixed reactions from college students across NC. UNCC’s The Black Sheep reached out to some other UNC students to get an update on campus conditions, general annoyances, and to see overall how other NC universities stack up against snow day comebacks.

Starting over at East Carolina University:

It’s difficult for us to report on ECU, since UNCC was told that if we didn’t have anything nice to say, to not say anything at all.

Turns out ECU actually did get snow this past Friday and had a delay today. Looks like you guys aren’t afraid to catch a cold, but have no problem catching those ST- No wait, sorry, we didn’t mean that, please keep inviting us to your parties!

Now to NC State University:

Okay, looking rainy, but no snow in sight. Summary from one student: “Well, brick slippage is expected to increase by 300%. Every type of weather is dangerous at NCSU, especially wet leaves. Oh, and the buses have no idea what the fuck they’re doing.” Hey, NC State, we feel you on the bricks and wet leaves. Not sure what’s happening with the bus routes, but it looks like an awesome clusterfuck!

Every NC college student can bond over their love of Cook Out and puns. See, we’re not all that different!

Shit, is that what snow looks like? You’re not getting cancelled for the entire week? Only had a delay until 3:00p.m? Oh. Uh, well, this is embarrassing.

Yak High Honors:

“When App cancels classes until 3.” Dear god, and they still have a sense of humor! You’re the real MVPs.

And hitting home back at UNC Charlotte:

Charlotte didn’t see any snow, so we basically cancelled early classes today because it was real cold outside. Classes are scheduled to resume this evening at 5:00pm, to the disdain of literally every student with a 6:00pm lecture.

Ours too! But more importantly, those extra few hours of sleep gives us plenty of time to think through ways to have school cancelled longer. We’re not saying we’re the top university in NC or anything (but we’re clearly superior beings in every way).

Well, happy s(no)w day, North Carolina! May your first exams be postponed indefinitely!
