POLICE PEPPER SPRAY WMU WELCOME WEEK EVERYTHING IS IN SHAMBLES
Sunday night culminated in the end of WMU’s Welcome Week in very typical Western Party fashion – by the police breaking up the street party with pepper spray and/or tear gas (currently a lot of confusion on Twitter. It’s like learn your crowd-controlling airborn chemicals people! What is this, Iraq!?).
There is a lot of “Cop said, Student said” going on in “real” media outlets. According to police, they tried to verbally break up the unruly crowd, but when some rowdy students (because this happens) starting chucking bottles at them, they had to unleash the beast. According to students, they weren’t doing anything wrong. According to police they didn’t even use pepper spray, according to students they did. Are police lying? Are we Broncos just gilding the lily?
8+ dumpster fires, state troopers, and tear gas. This is how we welcome week? #wmu

OR are people (read: K-Zoo local news) riling everyone up and start some “students are crazy/police hate them” nonsense before the partying even begins? Getting all those sweet, sweet pageviews they so desperately need to prove they’re still relevant…
We’re going to go that route, and instead of getting our britches in a bundle, we’re going to look at all these cute pictures of Broncos and Bronco police getting along just fine, courtesy of @1040_MainStreet.
