It’s 12 a.m. on a Friday night and you’ve got a serious case of the drunchies. You’re way too lazy to make the trek to McDonald’s and the vodka shots you pounded earlier are the reason you’ll burn the house down if you try to cook. To solve this hunger problem, here are the top 6 eateries around UO that’ll coat the stomach nicely when you’ve had one too many.
As one of the more affordable options on this list, you can get anything your drunken heart desires. With such a wide variety of food, you can get anything from cheese fries to a gyro salad. Conveniently located on 13th, whether you’re 21+ (or have a fake I.D.) at the bars or living the dorm life, you have a short walking distance from every location.
5.) Sizzle Pie:
Now we know what you’re thinking, this restaurant is all the way downtown, but Sizzle Pie is seriously underrated. Everyone has that late-night pizza craving whether you’ve been sipping the vino or not, and this place delivers until 4 a.m. on weekends. With $3-$4 pizza slices the size of Royce Freeman’s face; it’s worth the wait.
4.) Jimmy John’s:
A place that delivers sandwiches, to your doorstep, until 3 a.m. is magic, plain and simple. No matter how drunk you may be, you always feel for those poor Jimmy John’s employees that are forced to deliver your meat and cheese on a bike, rain or shine. And, if you don’t order your sandwich with those hot peppers, get it together please.
3.) Dairy Queen:
DQ is a given because it’s the only place where you can get ice cream at 1 a.m. With your liquor blanket keeping you warm in the chilly Eugene weather, nothing sounds better than some sweet shit in your ice cream. The $5 chicken basket, however, is a close second to the Blizzard and let’s be honest, if you aren’t balling on a budget, you should just get both.
2.) Dough Co.:
What sounds better than gooey cheese and soft warm bread after a long night of drinking? The fact that you don’t have to move because it can get delivered to you until 3 a.m. With over 15 calzone options and fresh cookies made to order, this carb overload is all you need to coat the beer belly and halt that morning hangover.
If you don’t know what Uly’s is, do you even go to the University of Oregon? Not only is this the best choice, but it’s the only choice on a Saturday night because it’s only open 3 days a week. Sober or wasted out of your mind, these are still some of the best street tacos in Eugene. If you haven’t experienced Uly’s yet, get your ass up and order a trifecta, it’ll change your life.
Are you in class right now? Don’t worry, you can still leave.
